Did you think that the Samsung Wave 2 is the successor to the Wave, is not it? We too - but it is not, the Samsung S8530 Wave II is the real deal. The display has grown from 3.7 inches and all the great features have been retained. And we thought only Nokia scheme was a disaster.
The Samsung S8500 is an impressive phone Wave - the first SuperAMOLED we saw was an impression on us and other characteristics were also very high. The next two Bada phones were designed for a wider market with mainstream features, so understandably did not live up to their predecessors.
The Samsung S8530 Wave II Bada OS brings back the high end - a 3.7 inch screen WVGA screen, but Samsung is passed to the "Super Clear LCD.
Which corroborates well with the voices we have heard recently from a lack of SuperAMOLED display, which should have led to the end of the production of the original Wave. Samsung prefer to keep their production lines SuperAMOLED busy with their cell phones as their next Galaxy and S WP7-based Samsung Omnia 7.
The original Wave was among the first phones with Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi b / g / n The Samsung S8530 Wave II also. It also has the same CPU 1GHz, 5MP camera with LED flash and video capture 720p.
The guys over at teltarif.de the German site already had the opportunity to spend time with the Samsung S8530 Wave II and compare it with the original Wave.
It turns out that the Second Wave runs the Bada OS v1.2, that adds some small upgrades, including over-the-Air support updates and a method of Swype-like text-input Nuance T9 called Trace. Among other things, a leaked Bada firmware 1.2 shows that the new features (more performance) are already on their way to the owners of the original Wave.
This is what's different inside. Outside, there is the central key redesigned. And as they say, the larger screen has led to a larger body - the Wave II measures 124 x 60 x 11.8 mm and weighs 135 grams good.
Not bad for a smartphone with a touchscreen all-metal 3.7-inch board. Then again, these measures have an almost exact match for HTC Desire.
The Samsung S8530 Wave II will be available in Europe in November (with a confirmed rate of 430 German euro or 590 dollars).
